The white sands of the Medano Beach, bordered by the azure waters of the Sea of Cortez, offer you the peaceful retreat you have needed for so long. Overlooking El Medano Beach in Cabo San Lucas, Villa del Palmar Beach Resort & Spa has recently completed a yearlong, $3.5million (USD) refurbishment to its suites, restaurants and recreational amenities. As for accommodations, all concrete bed bases have been replaced with box springs and mattresses. In addition, all kitchen and bathroom counters were replaced with granite surfaces. New furnishings were also added in these areas, as well as new curtains and artwork. Nearly half of the suites received new televisions and refrigerators, while all suites now have pay per view movie service, and both wired and wireless Internet access (nominal fee). As for amenities upgrades, the floor and side walls on the two larger swimming pools have been redone with a more attractive look. To make the area even more inviting, 400 new lawn chairs and 200 new swimming pool umbrellas have been purchased to both increase capacity and to replace older ones. The grass surface on the property’s miniature golf course is also being enhanced. On the food and beverage front, all furniture in both restaurants has been replaced. But the big news is on the operations front. In September, a new 24-hour room service menu was introduced with popular favorites featured in an easy to read and easy to order manner. Special romantic dinners on request continue to be available as something different to do while visiting the property. In October, the indoor area of Las Tortugas Restaurant launched breakfast a la carte. The property’s International experienced chefs have created a nice combination of healthy dishes mixed with a true Mexican breakfast tradition. And on January 2, Chef Danielle Tonin took control of the Bella California restaurant. Using his Italian influences, Chef Tonin will create dishes with the authentic flavors of his native country.
